Support Ashley and Josh's Medical Journey

I’m creating this GoFundMe for my sister-in-law Ashley and her son Josh.

Josh was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in October of 2023, which was unknown to him or the family.

While at school, Josh suffered a diabetic ketoacidosis coma and was taken to CHOC, where he was told the news about his diabetes condition.

His life has changed drastically since his diagnosis. So many issues have unfolded; he’s had neuropathic problems to the point where he could not walk from the pain in his feet. He had to stop going to school due to the pain in his feet and was not able to bear weight so he was put on strong pain medication.

He spent 6 months in the hospital before he was sent home.

Things haven’t gotten any better, his current issue is his esophagus/digestive system. He is unable to keep any food or liquid down. He goes 3 weeks vomiting, which exhausts him and causes heart palpitations and other complications.

Unfortunately, doctors don’t have a clear understanding of what is going on with his body and have confirmed he is a very rare case. They don’t have a firm treatment for him as everything they have tried is not working on him.

He underwent surgery today to have a J/G tube port placed in hopes that this will help him.

My sister-in-law Ashley has been unable to work for an entire year due to her son's complex diagnosis and all that’s come with it. She is a single mother doing everything she can for her son, being his voice but also making sure they have a roof over their head.

Any donation to help with her living/medical expenses will be greatly appreciated, but most of all, a prayer of healing will be appreciated.
