My name is Josh. I am a retired Army veteran, nurse, and independent filmmaker who has dedicated my life to caring for others and creating stories that matter. Today, I find myself in a position where I need to ask for help.

I’ve been diagnosed with ocular cancer and am currently undergoing radiation therapy in isolation through USC’s Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. I am deeply grateful for the incredible treatment I’m receiving and remain in high spirits, but this journey comes with challenges I cannot fully manage alone. Despite the effectiveness radiation therapy may have on my tumor, the side effects will unfortunately have serious detrimental effects on my eye resulting in irreversible vision loss within the next few years.

Because of the treatment, I’ve had to step back from work, take time in isolation, and face unexpected expenses. I am not asking for much, only for small contributions to help ease these uncontrollable burdens while I focus fully on healing.

As someone who has always worked hard to give back to my patients, my community, and my fellow veterans, it is difficult for me to ask for help. But I know that with a little support, I can fight through this chapter with dignity and peace of mind.
