Support Josh Through Medical Challenges

The unpredictability of life sometimes throws our way challenges that we are unprepared to face. Less than two weeks ago, Josh's world was turned upside down when he received diagnosis of a tennis ball-sized tumor in his fibula, after thinking he was visiting Patient First for a muscle injury surfacing from a few years ago. From playing sports to being unable to walk, bear weight, or be upright, every challenge has been both physically and emotionally trying.

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind of fast-tracking through Ortho Oncology with multiple tests and an MRI. Josh is due to undergo a needle-guided biopsy this week to find out if the tumor is benign or malignant, as well as additional testing to determine his course of treatment. Regardless, the road to recovery will require extensive medical treatment and multiple procedures and surgeries. Though Josh has kept a positive spirit through these initial stages, there is great uncertainty during this time for our entire family.

Due to his inability to bear weight on his leg, Josh is unable to work and his position has been let go. The reality of fighting this diagnosis as a single entity has created financial challenges too difficult to bear alone. As we prepare to move Josh home, he is faced with a multitude of personal and medical expenses foreseeable for the next 6-12 months.

This fundraiser was made as a sentiment to Josh's positive spirit as he faces a great road of uncertainty. All donations collected will be used for personal and daily expenses, loss and time off for family to attend appointments/hospital stays, and to sustain this time period and ease the financial debt for Josh and our family. Every donation, no matter the amount, goes to supporting Josh the best way we can and getting him back to normalcy as quickly as possible.

We thank you all for your kindness and generosity during this time. It has been incredibly difficult to bring ourselves to this point, but our village of support has been what has kept our family positive during this time. As we find out more, we will continue to provide updates.
