Support Josh, Qiao, Molly, and Leila after the Eaton Fire

Hello everyone,

My name is Karen Chu and we're setting up this GoFundMe page for our dear friends, Qiao, Josh, Molly (6), and Leila (3). We met Josh and Qiao through ultimate frisbee and they have been very close friends for many years...

In January 2018, Josh and Qiao bought their first home in Altadena, CA, and began growing their family, and raising their two young daughters there. Over the past 6 years, they've poured in a lot of love and effort into renovating and beautifying their home.

On January 7th, 2025, a brush fire broke out in Eaton Canyon. With winds whipping up to 100 mph, the fire exploded over thousands of acres. It's destroyed almost the entire community, including their home.

Thankfully, they were able to evacuate safely with important documents and a few items, but, sadly, their home was completely burned to the ground.

At this time, while they are starting the long process of recovering their lives, we are so grateful that so many have asked how they can help.

Right now, Qiao and Josh are looking for temporary housing for their family, so they cannot take on additional physical items. However, when they do get somewhat settled, monetary donations will help to soften the blow of having to replace what was lost and support their young daughters during such a stressful time.
