Support Josh Jurgens Stroke Recovery

Donation protected
Since November, this young family's world has been turned upside down. My 39-year-old son-in-law, Josh Jurgens, has been facing a relentless series of health challenges. It all began when he started experiencing stroke-like symptoms, complicated by his diabetes. Around Veteran’s Day, he was hospitalized, and doctors confirmed he had suffered a small stroke.
We hoped it was an isolated incident, but just a month later, on December 20th, Josh was admitted to the hospital again after another stroke. The uncertainty was unbearable as doctors worked tirelessly to uncover why someone so young was experiencing such devastating health issues.
During his stay, Josh suffered an allergic reaction to a new medication, adding yet another layer of stress. By Sunday, with no clear answers, they faced the heart-wrenching decision to send their children to stay with family so the kids could still experience some Christmas joy, even as their dad remained in the hospital.
The news grew worse. The stroke had progressed, leaving Josh with no movement on his left side. After twelve long days in the hospital, he was finally discharged to begin three weeks of inpatient therapy. Doctors estimate that intensive therapy—both inpatient and outpatient—could take a year or more.
Josh’s condition has made it impossible for him to work. As an independent contractor, he doesn’t have sick leave or disability benefits. Their savings, already strained by the demands of managing his diabetes, are now completely exhausted. Jenne, his wife, is doing everything she can to hold the family together, but the financial burden is overwhelming.
The road ahead is steep. Their home will need modifications to accommodate Josh’s new mobility challenges, and medical expenses continue to mount. They are a proud family who never imagined they would have to ask for help—but now, they have no other choice.
Before all of this, Josh spent his days working on computers, taking photos, being apart of the El Riad Shrine Clown Unit, and spending time with his family.
We are reaching out to anyone who can help support Josh, Jenne, and their children through this difficult time. Whether it’s a donation, sharing their story, or simply keeping them in your thoughts, every bit of kindness helps.
This is a family who has always given their all for each other, their family and friends. Now, they need our help to navigate the uncertain road ahead. Let’s come together to lift them up and remind them that they are not alone.
