Hi All! With the permission of Josh Conley Sr. and Kalee Rector,
I (Skipper) and Jenna have set up this Go Fund Me to help offset any expenses that will occur while they are getting treatment for Josh Jr.
Friday, January 31st, Josh Jr. (17 yrs old) had a routine Dr. visit, where they discovered swollen Lymph Nodes in his Neck and Groin area. Upon having a syncope episode (loss of consciousness) at the Dr. office, they immediately transported him by ambulance to Fransiscan hospital in Rensselaer. They ran some testing and done an CT Scan and immediately consulted with Doctors at Riley Children's hospital.
Riley's confirmed that Cancer was present and requested that he be transported via Life-Flight to them as his kidneys had started failing but weather did not permit the flight so he was transported via Ambulance.
On Saturday, February 1st, Pediatric Doctors confirmed that he has B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It is a type of blood cancer that affects B-Lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell.
Starting Monday, February 3rd, Josh Jr. will be fitted with a Port. He will go under for a Lumbar Puncture and a bone marrow biopsy. They are going to check to make sure it has not spread to brain or any other internal organs.
Josh Jr. is a great kid! He is a full time Student (senior) this year, graduating a year earlier than expected all while working a part-time job at our local Arby's. In his free time, he loves fixing things, working on his truck, riding the tractor through his garden, and most of all, spending time with his girlfriend, Julie.
Josh and Kalee will be needing to take some time off work for awhile to get Josh Jr. the treatments he needs. With having other children at home and bills piling up, gas expenses from traveling back and forth, Josh and Kalee could use all the help they can get. They have always been a huge staple in our community with helping others when they were in need. We are now calling upon the community to help them in their time of need. Anything will help and they will be forever grateful!
