Hi everyone, we are Stephanie and Amanda Rattigan, Kim’s sisters and Josh’s sisters-in-law. We are launching this GoFundMe on Josh & Kim’s behalf. During the months of May and June 2025, Josh’s health started to decline and he began suffering from symptoms related to his liver. He was admitted to Maine Medical Center, and after an array of tests and scans, was told he was in acute liver failure and was diagnosed with Stage 4 Small Cell Metastatic Carcinoma of the pancreas on July 10, 2025 (just two days shy of his 36th birthday.) This is a heart-breaking and life altering diagnosis that has affected everyone who knows and loves him. Josh is facing the fight of his life. Despite the grim prognosis, Josh remains hopeful, unbelievably positive, and has incredible strength, faith and courage. He continues to be himself, making the Doctors laugh at hospital, and just being “Josh.” Josh is described by those who love him as a hard worker, “the salt of the earth” and just an all around stand-up guy.
He is surrounded in love by his plethora of family and friends, but especially by his devoted wife, Kim, and their two children, Owen - 12 years old and Autumn - 4 years old. Josh is Kim’s entire world and is the sole provider for their household. As you can imagine, the emotional and financial toll on their family has been overwhelming with the high cost of healthcare and Josh being unable to work when he doesn't feel well. Kim is a stay at home mom and is doing everything she can to keep their household running, care for their children, and be present by Josh’s side, all while navigating the unimaginable and an uncertain future.
We are asking for your help to ease some of the financial burden so that their family can focus on what matters most: spending time together and caring for Josh. Your donation(s) will go directly toward medical expenses, hospital care, expensive medications, household bills and essentials, keeping a roof over their heads, and general support for their two children. No amount is too small, and if you are unable to donate, Kim and Josh are asking for prayers.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. We appreciate all your love and support as our family navigates this new reality.
