Hey guys, my fiance’s best friend (Josh Doyle) is going through an unthinkable time right now. On September 7th he went to Norton’s on Brownsboro Rd. for what he thought might be pneumonia. Come to find out he had an absessed tooth (that he apparently let go just a little too long) and on top of the infection in his tooth, it also turned into an awful infection in his heart. On September 10th he was transferred to Norton’s downtown. Late last week they did the surgery to remove the infected tooth, then this past Monday they did open heart surgery to remove as much infection as possible (which ended up being much worse than they thought) and ended up having to replace one of his heart valves with a mechanical one. He’s currently on a ventilator and just woke up earlier today (9/16). They’re still monitoring the infection, and now they’re giving him blood thinners as he’s getting blood clots. He’s slowly but surely making baby steps in the right direction, which is all we can hope for. All we are trying to do is ease the massive financial burden he will be facing once he’s able to come home.
This man will do anything for anyone, he’s a single father to 3 children and works 6-7 days a week as a city of Mount Washington employee, to provide for his kids and keep a roof over their head, barely making ends meet. He hasn't had central air conditioning for over a year because it went out and he was never able to afford to replace it. Due to that, and relying on window units, his electric bills have been $700+ dollars a month. In addition to that his hot water heater has also been out for some time. He's not the type to ask for help from anyone.
On top of all the medical bills he will have to deal with we want to help get his house back in good shape so he’s able to come home and live comfortably without any added stresses.
Please, if you’re able to help at all, there’s no amount to small. This man deserves all the help he can get and more. If you’ve made it this far, just know we appreciate any and all help from the bottom of our hearts.
