If you know Josh Moore, you know he loves sports and if this summer was a Football game, then the Moore family was making one exciting play after another! Josh was planning to start a new job July 14th, they had a closing date for a beautiful new home set on August 4th, and Jenean stepped away from counseling work to prepare for these exciting changes. On July 13th, just one day before starting his new job, Josh was admitted to the hospital for suspected gallbladder problems. They were absolutely hit on the blindside when imaging revealed a pancreatic mass.
After various tests, a gallbladder stent, and a biopsy, Josh was shockingly diagnosed with stage 4 non-hodgkins lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. Although disoriented and confused about the seemingly awful timing of this diagnosis, they are holding onto hope in the Lord and the expertise and care of his oncology team.
Josh will undergo chemo from August to December. With occasional bloodwork and scans to confirm his body is responding well to the treatment. As hard as it is for them to think of the impact of cancer and chemo on Josh's body, they are grateful for the odd timing that allows them to focus on getting Josh well, while working is not a barrier or stressor. That being said, while the family can focus on treatment and support, you can imagine the growing stress that can arise from a prolonged period without employment with the weight of medical needs amongst daily living. The Moores are so grateful for all the support already given through prayers, meals, child/dog care, and more. They would be very appreciative for any financial gifts to help reduce stress as they focus on healing. Let’s help get Josh into the End Zone and win this battle against cancer!
