Greetings, friends, family, and public in general:

My name is Nemesis Arroyo, mother of 2 teenage girls, and married to my high school sweetheart, Jose.

This is my very first time doing something like this, and I am at a loss for words.

It is incredibly difficult to ask for help or support during this time, but as a family, we are currently facing a situation that is too hard to handle on our own as a family.

Recently, my husband Jose had an unexpected stroke in the middle of the night that resulted in being held at the local hospital, undergoing MRI's, CT scans, ECHO, EKG, and many other tests to figure out what caused this and help identify it as a stroke.

Currently, my husband has been transferred to a rehab facility due to the effects and extent of this stroke, making his left side immobile, resulting in speech complications, and a few others. He will be referred to a neurologist specialized in ophthalmology due to his vision deficit due to said stroke. This leaves our family with two sources of income to one while raising our two teenage girls. We serve the community with our jobs and know how important ot is to help others.

Jose and I work together to provide for our family, but now that we are on one income without knowing if/when he can go back to work again, I am handling current bills while waiting for the others from medical treatment to come in. From two to one income, our bills remain the same, and now our needs are bigger, making this a struggle.

If you are able or feel okay to do so, please consider us in not only your prayers but with this page. Any contribution will help, no matter how big or small.

Thank you for your love, prayers, support, and grace during this time.

UPDATE 2/18/2026:
I went to see him on Monday, the 16th, and Jose is improving and is very optimistic about his recovery. He is receiving speech, occupational, and physical therapy at the rehab facility for 3 hours daily. These therapies have been helping him improve little by little. He is slowly regaining mobility in both extremities; his vision will need further work, and he will be referred to a neurologist specializing in ophthalmology. After discharge, it will be more than likely that he will require equipment to help him move around and make things a little easier for him at home while he continues to recover. He will be needing outpatient therapies 3 times weekly and follow-up visits with doctors.
