Support Jose & Elizabeths Recovery and their Kids

Hello, my name is Jose Bermont. I’m a father of three amazing toddlers—two little girls and a baby boy (3, 2, and 1 year old). Our life has been turned upside down over the past few months, and now, after a devastating car accident, I am unable to work and struggling to provide for my family. I’ve always been self-sufficient, but today, I need help to get through this difficult time.
A Miracle After a Devastating Accident
Last December, my 1-year-old son suffered a terrifying accident in the bathtub. Despite having a slip mat in place, he fell, hit his head hard, and immediately went into a seizure. He wasn’t breathing, blood started coming from his nose, and his lips turned blue. Even after first responders arrived, he remained in a seizure.

On the way to Loma Linda Children’s Hospital, I prayed desperately—begging God to take everything from me, just not my son. Doctors warned us that after 5 minutes without oxygen, brain damage was likely. He was placed on life support, and we spent agonizing days in the PICU. Then, a miracle—he woke up. His first words after being extubated? Singing his ABCs. No brain damage. No lasting impairments. My prayers were answered.

Losing My Dogs, Then Facing Another Tragedy
While I was by my son’s side, my three beloved dogs—Guinevere, Gunny, and Blanca—were tragically poisoned by antifreeze. One by one, I watched them die of renal failure. It was devastating, but I reminded myself: I asked God to take everything, just not my son.

I was finally getting back on my feet, ready to work again, when on February 18th, everything changed. We were driving home when a drunk driver going the wrong way on HWY 18 crashed into us and another vehicle. We were rushed to the ER, and while we are grateful to be alive, I am now severely injured—my neck, back, ribs, arms, and legs are in constant pain. I can’t work, and our only remaining vehicle was totaled. Insurance won’t cover what I still owe on it, leaving us stranded. I am thankful that our kids were not there for this accieent because initial impact was where their car seats are, but now im facing uncertainty in being able to provide or not.

Why I Need Your Help
I am self-employed and a small business owner. I don’t have disability insurance, paid leave, or any financial safety net. If I don’t work, I don’t earn. Now, I am unable to provide for my family and need help to keep us afloat.

Your support will help us:
- Cover rent, bills, and groceries while I recover.
- Replace our totaled vehicle so we can get to doctor appointments and eventually get back to work.
- Provide for my three toddlers during this difficult time.

How I Will Give Back
I’ve never been one to ask for handouts. Once I recover, I will give back twice what you donate in work credit. I can build, repair, and create almost anything, and I promise to honor my commitment to those who help my family now.

If you cannot donate, please share this campaign. Every share, prayer, and bit of support means the world to us.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Jose Bermont
