Jose is my brother, and our family’s lives changed on March 21 when he was struck by a car while riding his motorcycle home. The driver is suspected to have been under the influence.
He suffered severe, life-threatening injuries and has undergone multiple surgeries. He recently had his left leg amputated due to the extent of the damage and remains in the hospital, where he will continue receiving care for the weeks ahead.
Jose is a devoted father to his 16-year-old daughter, who depends on him. As he begins this next phase of recovery, he will be facing rehabilitation, learning to adjust to life after amputation, and the challenges of rebuilding his independence.
We are also working through what comes next, including housing, transportation to physical therapy, and daily support once he is discharged and unable to work.
Funds raised will go toward medical expenses, rehabilitation, prosthetic care, and basic living costs during this time.
Any support—whether through a donation or simply sharing—means a great deal to our family and will make a real difference in Jose’s recovery and his ability to continue being there for his daughter.
