On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, my friend's husband, Jose, was driving to pick up his coworker at 6:15 AM, heading to work as he does every day. When he arrived at his coworker’s house, ICE agents were waiting outside, looking for his coworker. Unfortunately, Jose was also detained that morning. This is a heartbreaking situation, as Jose is always the first to help his coworkers by giving them free rides and supporting them when they have no transportation.

Jose is a devoted father of four children—ages 16, 15, 6, and 4. Today, instead of celebrating Father’s Day with his family, his children are left wondering where their dad is. Jose has no criminal history and is known in the community for his kindness and willingness to help others, alongside his wife, who is equally dedicated to their family and neighbors. Their sudden loss has left the family in urgent need of support, especially to cover legal expenses and keep their household stable.
