My husband, Joseph is a loving, caring and outgoing person. Who has been physically active his whole life and loves playing sports....
On Sunday morning he told me he was feeling unwell, hours later I opted to bring him to the ER. Well on Monday morning tragedy struck, Joey is in major heart failure. His bottom Right atrium is no longer functioning, a blockage in his heart, along with 2 major blood clots and a low injection fraction. Joseph days later is still in Stony Brooks Cardiac intensive care unit under the care of there team. The goal is to get his heart healthy enough to be able to just get home.
That being said Im trying to figure out on how to plan for that day.
Joseph is union member for Local 138 but his coverage has not kicked in yet, we are no longer able to uptake Cobra, and enrollment for other options are closed.
I've stressed all day and all night since hearing this nightmare. With our son Finnley at home, and Joseph not working. I myself am unable to financially get him the things he needs to come due to no coverage.
Joey will need wear a life vest to monitor his heart and correct his heart beat function. Along with a heavy amount of medication.
This is the last thing most of us want to come to, but my Son needs his daddy, I need my husband.
He makes our family whole.
Please help us, anything will help and we will be forever grateful. Thank you from bottom of my heart for your support!
