Fueling Joseph's Flight: Help Me Achieve My Lifelong Dream of Becoming a Pilot
My name is Joseph Ndege, and from a young age, I've looked to the skies with an unwavering dream: to become a pilot. At 22 years old, this aspiration has only grown stronger. As a recent graduate of the Kenyan Aeronautical College (KAC), where I completed my studies in Flight Operations and Dispatch, I've laid the groundwork for my aviation career. However, the next crucial step – obtaining my Integrated Airline Transport Pilot License (IATPL) and the necessary ratings – presents a significant financial challenge.
To achieve my goal of becoming an airline pilot and eventually a test pilot flying advanced aircraft, I need to attend a prestigious flight school like the CAE Oxford Aviation Academy in the UK or 43 Air School in South Africa. This comprehensive training will equip me with the essential skills and qualifications, including instrument, type, and night ratings, followed by helicopter pilot training. My ultimate vision extends beyond flying for major international airlines such as Emirates, Etihad, Qatar, Delta, American Airlines, and British Airways. I aspire to one day establish my own airline and aerospace company in Kenya, fostering innovation and creating opportunities within the aviation sector. Furthermore, I dream of opening an aviation college to guide and inspire future generations of pilots.
The reality is that pursuing this dream comes with substantial costs. The tuition for the theoretical portion of the IATPL course alone amounts to approximately $250,000 USD. In addition to this, flight lessons cost around $300 USD per hour, and becoming a qualified airline pilot requires a minimum of 1500 flight hours, with specific hour requirements for each pilot license (PPL, CPL, ATPL) and associated exams.
My parents, while incredibly supportive of my ambitions, are unfortunately not in a financial position to cover these extensive costs. It's a reality that weighs heavily on my heart, but I understand their situation completely. However, I refuse to let this obstacle ground my dreams. I am a dedicated and hardworking individual, committed to achieving every goal I set for myself. I believe that with the right support, I can overcome this financial hurdle and soar towards my aspirations.
I am humbly asking for your support to help me raise $300,000 USD or more. These funds will be directly allocated to cover essential expenses such as my application fees, tuition costs, and at least the initial 150 hours of crucial flight training. Any additional funds raised will be used to cover visa application fees, my flight ticket to the training location, and initial accommodation costs.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring me one step closer to realizing my lifelong dream of becoming a pilot and ultimately contributing to the growth of the aviation industry in Kenya and beyond. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering supporting my journey.
