Support Josephine's Courageous Battle Against Cancer

Hi everyone, my name is Patrice.

I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my wonderful cousin, Josephine Peter’s. She is a 36-year-old single mother of 2 beautiful daughters, ages 17 and 8. She is a Registered Nurse and is studying to become a Nurse Practitioner.

In November of 2020, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. After going through aggressive chemotherapy, radiation, and a lumpectomy, she was officially cancer free in the summer of 2021. However, in the spring of 2023, the breast cancer returned so she had a double mastectomy and reconstruction. She has been on daily treatments ever since. All while fighting cancer, she enrolled in school to become a Nurse Practitioner. She is working hard to raise her children as best she can despite the ongoing health issues that she is facing.

On May 10th, Josephine suffered a seizure at home and was found unconscious by her oldest daughter. She had no memory of how she ended up on the floor, nor did she remember her daughter. Once hospitalized, she received the unfortunate news that the cancer has metastasized, and she now has 2 tumors in her brain. Josephine will now have to endure aggressive chemotherapy and radiation again after having brain surgery.

At the moment, she is trying to regain her memory. She is able to remember her children now. However, she cannot remember how to use her phone (i.e. - texting and phone calls).

With this new health development, Josephine will be out of work for the foreseeable future. She will be hospitalized for at least a few weeks while she receives treatment.

Josephine is fighting as best as she can to ensure that she is here to raise her daughters. She is the only remaining parent for her oldest child who is still trying her best to adjust to life without her father.

The donations that we receive will go towards her hospitalization, treatment, and care, as well as taking care of her daughters. One of which will be graduating high school next month and starting college in August.
