Help Us Provide 24-Hour Care for My Bedridden Mother

My name is Patty Elizondo, and I along with my siblings Ed , Carlos and Jackie, are fundraising on behalf of our 91 year old mother, Josephine, who is elderly, bedridden, and now in need of continuous 24-hour care. For those who know her, you know how devastated she would be to know that I am starting this, as she has always been very self-sufficient and independent, but now she needs us.

Over the past 6 months, our mother’s health has declined significantly due to debilitating arthritis, complications from several mini strokes, as well as severe mobility issues, and chronic illness. She is unable to walk, sit up on her own, or manage daily tasks. She requires assistance with bathing, changing, medication administration, repositioning to prevent bedsores, feeding, and constant monitoring for her safety.

We have been doing everything we can to care for her at home, but the level of care she requires has grown beyond what we can physically and financially manage alone. Professional caregivers and medical support are essential—not only for her well-being and comfort but also to ensure she remains safe, clean, pain-free, and treated with the dignity she deserves.

Why We Need Help

24-hour home care is incredibly expensive. Expenses exceed $20,000 per month are not covered through medicare or supplemental insurance.

She does not yet qualify for a medi-cal facility. We have already borrowed everything we can from her home. Even with doing as much as possible the costs have become overwhelming.

Funds raised will go directly toward:

* Round-the-clock licensed caregivers

* Medical supplies & equipment that are not covered in hospice (incontinence supplies, medications, supplies, wound-care materials, etc.)

* Home nurse visits and medical monitoring

* Respite care so my sister and I can rest, work, and be better caregivers
