THIS GARNET VALLEY HS GRAD NEEDS YOUR HELP!!
LET US INTRODUCE YOU TO JOSEPH YANNELLI!
On October 30, 2024, Joseph, a 23 year old, recent college graduate from Marywood University suffered a spinal stroke while driving to work.
That morning he felt a slight pain in his upper back, he quickly dismissed but, driving, he began losing feeling in his mid section and both hands. He paused for a moment thinking about walking into Target to begin his loss prevention security job but chose to seek medical attention.
Urgent care to the local ER, to hospital admission, to a transfer to a neuro hospital ICU, to acute stroke unit, to stroke unit inpatient rehab. A whirlwind of doctors, nurses, med students, therapists, techs, computers and constant machine beeping noises.
Joseph cannot walk, cannot write legibly and is currently listed with paraplegia. Joseph cannot currently return to work and has been discharged to his home with in home care and therapy.
Joseph's goals include cooking, walking independently, driving, tie his shoes, put on his socks, climb stairs, spend time with his friends, return to work.
Joseph graduated Marywood University with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and continues to want to work in the forensics field one day. He played 2nd base for the Marywood Pacers baseball team, he volunteers every summer at White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church working with children, he is employed by Target as a Loss Prevention Specialist and he lives with his best friends in a home in West Chester, PA.
Joseph's medical bills are already coming in and already billing in the thousands of dollars and that's only 3 bills that have arrived so far. Joseph has insurance but that is not covering everything. As already stated, medical bills are adding up and Joseph will need funds for food, pay a bill, including student loans, keep up with his rent. He is working with his employer to receive possible benefits but this will not come close to covering his medical bills, living expenses and student loans during this time.
Joseph has returned home without being able to return to work at this time. He needs help paying living expenses, medical bills, student loans.
Would you help Joseph out during this time? Financially supported primarily through his own job, extra monetary support would help tremendously. Joseph is working hard and extra financial help would go a long way for him :) Thank you.
If you cannot donate we ask that you add Joseph to your prayers for complete healing. Thank you.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
