For years, my father Joseph Pongallo has been a trusted friend, a helping hand, and a cornerstone of the community. As the proud owner of his own shop, he has built lasting relationships with a loyal base of customers who know they can count on his honesty, skill, and generous spirit. He’s the kind of person who stays late to make sure someone can get home safely and who treats every customer like family.
Recently, he was diagnosed with throat cancer. Since then, life has changed dramatically for him and our entire family. He has undergone surgery and is currently enduring chemotherapy and radiation treatments. These treatments are physically and emotionally exhausting, and as a result, he has been unable to work for several months. The financial impact has been significant. Medical bills have already surpassed tens of thousands and continue to grow. On top of that, his wife, my step mother, has also had to step away from work opportunities to drive him to appointments, manage his care, and be by his side throughout this fight. Their household income has been put on hold at the very moment expenses have skyrocketed.
We are asking for support from the community that has supported his business for so many years. Donations will go directly toward covering medical expenses and helping provide for their household until he is strong enough to return to the shop he loves. If you are able to give, any amount is deeply appreciated. If you’re not in a position to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much. Thank you for helping us rally around a man who has spent his life helping others.
