My name is Joseph Murray. I am an 8th grade student at Center Moriches Middle School. I’m a John McEnroe Tennis Academy player at the Sportime Facility in Syosset, and I play year-round at the Sportime in Quogue. I’m also a member of the Center Moriches High School Varsity Tennis team and was named to the All-County team in 2024.

I am working on my Middle Years Program Community Project, which is “an extensive research and service endeavor designed to empower students to engage deeply with community issues. It encourages us to explore both our rights and responsibilities, with a focus on service as action.”

My MYP project focuses on improving the Center Moriches High School tennis facilities, which are also open to the entire community. I hope to install wind screens for the tennis courts.
