My name is Chelsea Yancer and my dad Joseph Beatty Sr., was diagnosed today with Stage 4 Colon Cancer along with Stage 4 liver & Stage 4 Lung Cancer.
Over the past few months his health has slowly been declining with becoming short of breath from simple tasks, extremly fatigue and wanting to take naps..which he doesn't do. He also had developed a cough which he couldn't shake off even after 2 prescription bottles of cough syrup. My mom had noticed his skin color was off. It looked pale & a little yellowish. He was also losing muscle mass in his arms. Finally my mom kept on him and had him go this past Monday (Dec. 15th) to get his labs drawn. The office called and told him he needed to get to the ER as his hemoglobin was 6.7, which is very low. They started with 2 blood transfusions and he was admitted. They said after 1 pint, his coloring would be normal and he would have energy again and be able to breath better. However, the next morning on Tuesday, he had no changes. Blood draw was 7.3 They said in didn't begin to put a dent into him. They ordered another blood transfusion of 1 more pint. The labs redrew his blood afterwards, It came back a 8.2 that evening. The ER doctor said if it's at least 8.0 he could be released, and his blood would start to remake on its own over time. My mom had asked for a CT scan to check for an internal tear. He had that done on Tuesday Dec. 16th. The ER doctor came in on Wednesday morning, and told us the scan showed nodules and lesions around the colon, liver, & lungs. He had his colonoscopy done December 19th which confirmed the finidings. He is scheduled for his biopsy on Monday December 22. He will begin chemotherapy very soon!
With all of that being said, my dad is the kindest and HARDEST working man I know and will and has dropped everything to be there for anyone! I remember calling him at 2am one night when I was at a party and didn't want to be there and he came and picked me up, no questions asked. He doesn't deserve this at all. If you've ever had the pleasure of meeting him then you know that! He has been at his job for over 38 years and doesn't have insurance. My mom is on disability and is unable to work. The costs of these treatments are astronomical as im sure you can imagine! I'm asking for your help so they do not need to stress with not only their own normal monthly bills but also with these treatments and medical bills. Also, he has also always wanted to do an Alaskan Cruise and I want to make that possible for him! Like I said, he has always done things for other people and never asked for anything in return. Not only has he been at the same job for over 38 years but also was ALWAYS on call. He doesn't deserve this Let's rally together to help my parents out and make his dream come true! If you can't donate then please just keep us in your prayers and SHARE❤️ Thank you!
