Support José Turra's Long Road to Recovery

Dear friends and family,

As many of you know, my father, José Turra, has been in the hospital since July 18th following a major medical crisis. He suffered a pulmonary edema caused by heart failure, which led to a serious case of pneumonia and hypertension. For several weeks, he was in an induced coma while receiving treatment.

Although sedatives are no longer administered, recovery will be long and difficult. He is not yet fully awake and needs a 24/7 caregiver. My brother Bruno and I traveled to Brazil to be with him, but our responsibilities in the U.S. made it impossible for us to stay assisting with his full-time care.

Recovery will be lengthy and difficult, requiring extensive medical care, physical therapy, and a caregiver—all of which are very expensive. This unexpected journey has been incredibly difficult for our family, and any donation, regardless of size, would make a world of difference.
