Support Jose Nuno's Family After Eaton Fire
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Jose Nuno.
As of 1-8-25, my father, brother, and I lost our Altadena home from the Eaton Fire. Thankfully, we are safe.
The night of the fire, I was working when I got the call from my brother saying that they had to evacuate. They only had a few minutes to pack what they could, which wasn't much since the fire was close. They only had the chance to get a few important documents and our cats. I was told that it was too late for me to help and just to evacuate to a safe area.
The next day, we decided to check to see if anything survived the fire. So, we walked to our home, talking with another person who was also worried. As we kept walking, we saw homes completely destroyed, only chimneys standing, and other homes completely untouched by the fire, which gave me a bit of hope that maybe our home was still standing. As we got there, that hope went away. Seeing the state of our home broke me and my father. All we could do was just stare at everything we had lost.
I've never been good at asking for help as it always made me feel like a burden, but some friends helped me see that it's not a burden and to never feel that way in dire situations.
Please, anything helps to get us back on our feet.
