Support Jose Luis Perez' Medical Journey

Hi, my name is Becky Luna, and I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read my story about my brother in law, Jose Luis “Pepe” Perez.

Pepe underwent brain surgery on Monday, July 15th. Tissue was removed and sent off to pathology for further evaluation. To date, no results have been received. After a number of days, Pepe was transferred to a rehab hospital to help improve some of his motor skills. Walking unattended and keeping his balance have been the most challenging. But rehab was short lived due to insurance limitations. Needless to say, he has a long road ahead of him. The pathology results will determine that road.

“Mr. Perez” or “JL” as he is known by many, is a retired educator of 49 years with the SFDRCISD school district. And 2 years with Sacred Heart Catholic School until his hospitalization. He has given the majority of his life to teaching, leaving an impression on his students and colleagues. He also devoted many years as an official score keeper with the school district for all sports. Always going above and beyond his duties.
