Help Support the Hernandez Family

We are raising funds to support our friend, Jose Hernandez, and his family during an incredibly difficult time. On Saturday, June 7th, Jose was detained by ICE in Saugus, MA and he has been held at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility ever since.

Jose has lived in the United States since 2008. Originally trained as an electrician in Guatemala, he is now certified in the U.S. and has built a respected business serving clients across Massachusetts. Known for his trustworthiness, professionalism, and work ethic, Jose is fluent in English, deeply patriotic, and proud to call this country home.

Throughout his green card process, Jose has never missed a single check-in or appointment. He has followed every rule and requirement, doing everything asked of him in good faith, with the hope of building a secure future for his family.

Jose is a devoted husband and father to three young boys—all U.S. citizens. Jose is the kind of person who strengthens communities, and right now he and his wife, Idalia, need our support.

Jose was scheduled to appear at an immigration hearing on Monday, June 23rd. After waiting all day, Idalia was informed that the hearing had been postponed by another two to three weeks. Since Jose’s detainment, Idalia has had to shoulder nearly $10,000 in legal fees, all while covering food, housing, and healthcare costs for their three sons on her own.

Please consider donating to help this hardworking, loving family stay afloat. Jose is exactly the kind of person who makes America stronger, and we believe he deserves to continue building his life here.

Thank you so much for your support,
Betsy & Calder Cruikshank

Betsy & Calder Cruikshank
