Jose's Health History and Life Context
Jose was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 12 and has been living with the condition ever since. Throughout his life, he has experienced frequent and sometimes severe seizures, which have significantly impacted his daily routines and personal safety. He has had seizures in public places such as roads, trains, and buses, where strangers have often had to intervene to help him during these critical moments.
Since his diagnosis, Jose has been on continuous medication to manage his condition. Despite these efforts, epilepsy has profoundly shaped his lifestyle and limited his ability to lead what many would consider a "normal" life. Jose has never smoked, consumed alcohol, or engaged in many of the typical social activities of adolescence and young adulthood, largely due to the challenges posed by his health. His journey reflects resilience in the face of ongoing medical adversity.
Now, Jose is facing an entirely new and devastating challenge: a diagnosis of stage 4 metastatic cancer. This life-threatening illness adds yet another layer of difficulty to his already complex health journey. The cancer has spread, making treatment and management especially difficult, and putting significant strain on his physical and emotional well-being.
Despite the hardships, Jose continues to fight with resilience. His story is one of ongoing courage, marked by a lifetime of medical battles and a strength that speaks volumes about who he is.

The neck surgery went well overall, but there were some complications. Jose’s lungs weren’t cooperating, and he had a hard time breathing afterward, which led to him being admitted to the ICU for three days. Thankfully, he’s improving and we’re hopeful he’ll be out of the ICU this evening. We’re still waiting to begin chemotherapy, and there’s a possibility he may need another surgery on his pelvic bone. We’re taking it one step at a time and staying hopeful.
Thank you all for the support and prayers.
God bless everyone.
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
My name is Delly Carrasco and I’m reaching out on behalf of my brother, José Carrasco. He has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney (renal) cancer, and our family is facing one of the toughest times of our lives.
José is preparing to undergo aggressive treatment, including both radiation and chemotherapy. These treatments are essential in fighting the cancer, but they come with heavy physical, emotional, and financial burdens. Due to the intensity of his condition and treatments, José will not be able to work for the foreseeable future.
We’re humbly asking for your support—whether it’s through a donation, a share of this message, or simply keeping José in your thoughts and prayers. Every bit of help makes a difference, and it will go directly toward covering his medical expenses, daily living costs, and helping ease the financial strain during this difficult journey.
José is a strong and kind soul who has always given to others. Now, he needs our help.
If you’re able to contribute or share this cause, we would be deeply grateful.
With heartfelt thanks,
Delly Carrasco
