Hello,

My name is Diego Lira and I'm reaching out to everyone to help support my family through the passing of my father, Jose Salvador Lira.

On February 3rd, my father went into cardiac arrest for a 4th and final time. The toll from all the previous arrests was too much for him and he could no longer go on.

Throughout this time, my family was able to be by his side for what ended up being his final days.

That would not have been possible without your support and I want to thank each and everyone one of you who lent a hand during this time.

What comes next however, will be difficult for my family and I.

I must once again ask for your financial support as our current jobs will not be able to cover funerary expenses on top of all our other expenses.

Any and all donations made to us will go towards living expenses, funerary costs, and any medical debt that might arise afterwards.

These are mostly to keep us afloat until I can find a better paying job.

If you are able to donate, you are helping my family mourn my father without having to worry about losing the roof above our heads.

El 3 de febrero, mi padre sufrió un paro cardíaco por cuarta y última vez. Las consecuencias de los paros anteriores fueron demasiado para él y ya no pudo seguir adelante.

Durante este tiempo, mi familia pudo estar a su lado en lo que resultaron ser sus últimos días. Esto no habría sido posible sin su apoyo, y quiero agradecer a cada uno de ustedes por la ayuda brindada en este difícil momento.

Lo que viene ahora será difícil para mi familia y para mí. Debo pedirles nuevamente su apoyo económico, ya que nuestros trabajos actuales no nos permiten cubrir los gastos funerarios además de todos nuestros otros gastos.

Todas las donaciones que recibamos se destinarán a gastos de manutención, gastos funerarios y cualquier deuda médica que pueda surgir posteriormente.

Hello,

My name is Diego Lira and I'm reaching out to everyone to help support my family through the ongoing hospitalization of my father, Jose Salvador Lira.

On December 23, my father went to the hospital for a procedure to clear him for a kidney transplant. Unfortunately, during this procedure, my father went into cardiac arrest. He was subsequently admitted into the ICU and has been hospitalized since then. He was slowly recovering and moved to the main hospital floor when on Jan 7, he went into cardiac arrest again. He was subsequently readmitted to the ICU, where six days later, on Jan 13, he rearrested.

All three times, the medical team have been able to bring him back, but not without consequence.

While the doctor's have been hopeful in helping him recover, the multiple arrests have taken a toll on him, and they have raised the possibility that he will not be able to recover fully, or that his heart might be too weak and will have to move him to hospice.

Throughout this time, my mother has been out on leave from her job to be by his side during this difficult time. With this fundraiser, I hope to help her stay by his side during anything that might happen, by not needing for her to return to work.

This leaves only me and my brother to take care of expenses.

Even with both of us having two jobs, we will not be able to make up on her lost income.

Any and all donations made to us will go towards living expenses and any unforseen expenses that could arise from his hospitalization and illness.

If you are able to donate, you are helping my family focus on helping my father recover and not needing to worry about making ends meet.

Mi nombre es Diego Lira y me dirijo a ustedes para pedirles su apoyo para mi familia durante la hospitalización de mi padre, José Salvador Lira.

El 23 de diciembre, mi padre ingresó al hospital para un procedimiento previo a un trasplante de riñón. Desafortunadamente, durante este procedimiento, sufrió un paro cardíaco. Fue ingresado en la UCI y ha permanecido hospitalizado desde entonces. Se estaba recuperando lentamente y fue trasladado a una habitación en la planta principal del hospital cuando, el 7 de enero, sufrió otro paro cardíaco. Fue reingresado en la UCI, donde seis días después, el 13 de enero, sufrió un tercer paro cardíaco.

En las tres ocasiones, el equipo médico logró reanimarlo, pero no sin consecuencias.

Aunque los médicos tienen esperanzas en su recuperación, los múltiples paros cardíacos le han afectado gravemente, y han planteado la posibilidad de que no se recupere por completo o que su corazón esté demasiado débil y deba ser trasladado a cuidados paliativos.

Durante todo este tiempo, mi madre ha estado fuera en su trabajo para estar a su lado en este difícil momento. Con esta recaudación de fondos, espero ayudarla a permanecer a su lado, sin que tenga que regresar a trabajar.

Esto nos deja a mi hermano y a mí solos para cubrir los gastos.

Aunque ambos tenemos dos trabajos, no podremos compensar la pérdida de ingresos de mi madre.

Todas las donaciones que recibamos se destinarán a los gastos de manutención y a cualquier gasto imprevisto que pueda surgir de su hospitalización y enfermedad.

Si pueden donar, estarán ayudando a mi familia a concentrarse en la recuperación de mi padre y a no tener que preocuparse por llegar a fin de mes.
