My name is Jo Vont’i Hamilton, 33 years old. I have a smart and beautiful daughter whom I co parent with her mother. I have my daughter every weekend. With not be stable it make it difficult and at times I have to cancel time being with my daughter.Ive been home from prison three years after being incarcerated for 8 years. Mentally its been a challenge suffering with anxiety and PTSD.Years ago I was shot multiple times in my left thigh and with getting older it made it kind of hard to work hard labor jobs. I landed a job at the 99 cents warehouse but unfortunately I was let go because I couldn’t make the 95% production rate loading the crates. The 99 cents went out of business a month after that. Ive been searching jobs warehouse fast food jobs ,and Felon friendly jobs and will not hire me. Im in enrolled full time at cerritos college for Business Administration I will be getting my AA next May. I Also need help with housing. I have some family in the city that i stay with from time to time but my daughter who is 13  asked about having her own room. Ive had my car for the past 6 months and my car needs a repair badly and going to school full time having to travel is putting wear and tear on my vehicle .The funds I do receive from financial aid it goes to things my daughter needs and things I have to take care of like my basic essentials, but when its all said and done Im still short on things and have to go without. Im a good dad and a person who just want a second chance because I’m willing to put the leg work in and show people that some of us do change. So with the funds I hope to get help with will go towards my daughter needs and my basic needs, my car also needs a repair badly so the rest will go to my car. So I will be able to get around to school and be able to be having my daughter alot more. Im a very grateful person and always trust the process ,but its hard on me and giving all I got guys!
