Hello there! For those who don’t know me and as a reminder for those who do, my name is Jo! I’m a writer, part-time educator and in January 2025 I will be undergoing gender affirming surgery. My recovery period for this surgery will be 2-3 months and while I have a hard time asking for financial support, I’m here to ask for your assistance in making my lengthy recovery period more comfortable and less stressful.

I officially started this process back in 2023 but this surgery is something that for many years felt more like a fantasy than a real world possibility. All these years later and after months and years of preparation, I am less than three months away from making this a reality.

While I do not see this surgery as any form of completion of my transition as a transgender person, this surgery will alleviate profound gender dysphoria, allow me to feel more at home in my own body and enable me to more confidently and comfortably move through this world and through the life ahead of me.

Your financial support will allow my full time carers to better care for me and for me to care for them as they are giving up their time to be with me during my recovery.
