Hello, my name is Jorge Ortiz. For over 11 years, I dedicated my life to being a truck driver, navigating the highways and providing for my family. It was more than a job; it was a passion and a way of life that brought me immense pride.

Unfortunately, my journey took an unexpected and life-changing turn when I suffered a severe injury that led to the amputation of my leg. Now, I rely on a wheelchair for mobility, and this transition has brought its own set of challenges.

In addition to this, recent government shutdowns have created significant financial hardships. Without access to food stamps and other essential support, I've struggled to meet basic needs, including providing food for my two service dogs and securing daily necessities. I also do not have any means of transportation to get basic necessities as well as making various necessary appointments.

I am also currently waiting for the process of applications for disability and living assistance, which adds to the difficulty of making ends meet.

Despite these challenges, I remain hopeful and resilient. Your support will not only help me meet immediate needs but also give me hope for a brighter, more stable future.

Your assistance will be going toward food and other necessary household items as well as transportation to and from various appointments. Additionally, it will also be going to basic expenditures such as health insurance and other such items while my disability status is being reviewed for coverage.
