Support Jorge's Fight Against Stage 4 Lymphoma
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that on May 20th, 2024, my brother Jorge was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Jorge just got married this past June 14th, a time that was meant to be the happiest of his life. Instead, he and his amazing, caring wife, Lety, are now facing a challenging and unexpected situation.
While Hodgkin's Lymphoma is one of the most curable types of cancer, being diagnosed at Stage 4 requires Jorge to take immediate action and focus all his attention on treatment. This means he will take time off work to concentrate on chemotherapy for the next six months, keeping his health and mind strong.
Despite this diagnosis, Jorge has been handling the situation with remarkable maturity and positivity. However, he is understandably concerned about the financial impact this will have on his life, especially now that he is married and Lety has just moved to Portland to be with him. Jorge has already undergone two rounds of chemotherapy, starting on July 10th and then on July 24th. Unfortunately, during Chemo #1 he had to spend three days in intensive care due to low white blood cell counts. Either way, he has shown incredible resilience, but the journey ahead remains tough.
This GoFundMe has been set up to provide financial relief mainly for medical expenses, and any other immediate necessities that may arise, allowing Jorge and Lety to concentrate on maintaining their positivity and tackling this fight together. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference. If you are unable to donate, please consider sending Jorge and Lety your words of support this via. Your encouragement and kind messages will be invaluable to them during this challenging time.

Jorge was able to finish the Boston Marathon this past April (with a lot of struggle but he did it), he already started battling cancer without knowing he had it. We are confident that with your support and best wishes, he will beat this disease too!
We will keep you updated on his journey through this platform.
We love you Jorge and Lety, STAY STRONG!
