Hi, my name is Stephanye, and I was born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.

My grandmother has been visiting El Mercado Florida in Santa Cruz for many years, where she’s gotten to know Jorge (the man in the photo). Jorge is a humble, hardworking man who makes his living at one of the market’s small shops repairing and crafting belts and purses.

About a year ago, my grandmother noticed that Jorge had a small mole on his face. When she recently saw him again, she was shocked to see the mole had grown into a large lesion. Jorge explained that he tried to have it removed, but due to lack of funds, he wasn’t able to complete the procedure.

We are concerned that this could be cancerous. He needs the lesion removed, biopsied, and possibly further treatment depending on the results. Unfortunately, the cost of medical care is beyond his reach.

We would love to help Jorge get the care he needs, and we’re asking for your support. Any amount you can give, big or small, will go directly to him.
