My coworker, Jorge Mendez Cruz, was riding in a pickup truck coming back from a job in Colorado on October 10th, 2025. The driver lost control of the truck on the wet freeway. Jorge was transported via LifeFlight to a hospital in northern Utah and put on life support, but his injuries were too severe and he passed away the next day, October 11th. His family is making funeral arrangements and working through the stages of grief. Jorge was only 36 years old. He leaves behind his wife, Maria De Lourdes Pinon Luna, and three children. This fundraiser was the best thing I could think of to help his family. The money will go to them to help with funeral expenses and helping them find a new normal without their husband and father.
