8/24/24: Surgery Part 2 was completed 8/22/24 successfully. The surgery lasted 11 hours. Jorene still remains in the ICU recovering smoothly, and he is staying strong and positive. From Gege: Thank you, and God bless everyone who has prayed and supported my family and I. We really appreciate everything.

I wanted to start a fund to help support the Leal family.
I appreciate you taking the time to read their story.
My uncle, Jorene Leal, suffered from a stroke in December 2023. A CT scan was completed and showed a large left-sided highly vascular brain tumor. The large tumor needs to be resected, requiring a two-part surgery. The surgeries are very invasive, and they will take between 8 to 12 hours. Due to the complexity of the surgeries, he was referred out to UCLA Hospital as he lives in Las Vegas.
The first part of the surgery was successful and completed on 8/20. The second part of his major surgery is 8/22.
Prior to the accident, he loved to play basketball, cook, and spend time with family and friends. He worked at Sketchers and as an Uber driver. He now struggles with speech, forming his words, and completing basic daily tasks. He has three beautiful kids and two little grandkids that reside with him. He is helping his daughter through college, and his youngest is in high school. His wife, Gege, is taking a temporary leave from work to help him to travel back-and-forth to California and support him through his surgery and then recovery.
Jorene’s road to recovery is unknown, any prayers and donations will be greatly appreciated as their family goes through this difficult time. All funds will be directed towards medical bills, travel and stay expenses, and personal bills while Gege and Joren are not working. God has been with us through this journey and will continue to be our strength. We appreciate your support, and most importantly your prayers.
God bless you all!
