Help Jordyn Recover From Surgery Far From Home

Donation protected
My name is Amy, and I had the honor of being Jordyn’s stepmom, but more than that, I’ve loved her like my own daughter for many years.

This summer, Jordyn will be undergoing major abdominal surgery. It’s medically necessary and, unfortunately, happening on a much faster timeline than any of us anticipated. Due to the complexity of her condition, the most qualified surgical team is in Tennessee, far from her home in Maryland.

The short notice has left very little time for planning or preparation. Following her surgery, Jordyn will need to remain in Tennessee for a minimum of four weeks to recover and attend essential follow-up appointments before she can be medically cleared to fly home. She won’t be able to manage her recovery alone, so a few trusted companions will be traveling at separate times to help with her care and daily needs throughout her recovery.

Finding fully accessible lodging that meets her medical needs has been incredibly difficult and expensive. Most options, without stairs, with roll-in showers, and space for caregivers, are priced over $6,000 for the month. When you factor in travel, meals, and transportation for both Jordyn and her caregivers, the cost becomes overwhelming very quickly.

If you don’t know, Jordyn lives with an ultra-rare condition called FOP (Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva), which causes bone to form in places it shouldn’t and makes any surgery extremely high-risk. She’s incredibly brave for facing this procedure head on, despite the physical and emotional toll it takes.

While Jordyn is covering the full cost of the surgery herself, which won't be covered by insurance from being out of network, she needs help with the recovery-related expenses surrounding it.

Your donation will help cover:
• Fully accessible lodging for Jordyn and her companions
• Travel support for the loved ones assisting her recovery
• Transportation to and from medical appointments
• Any unexpected needs that arise during her healing process

Jordyn is one of the strongest, kindest, most determined people I know. She gives so much to others and rarely asks for anything in return, but right now, she truly needs the help. If you’re able to donate or simply share this page, it would mean the world to all of us.

Thank you for supporting my girl during such a vulnerable and critical time!

With love and gratitude,
Amy
