Support Jordyn's Journey to Duke Program

Hello!

My name is Jordyn Love, and I am graciously soliciting your support to attend a life-changing educational enrichment program. As a future neuroscientist, I am applying for the Summer Springboard program at Duke University because I truly believe I am capable of learning here and obtaining the information needed to pursue my life-long career goal. At age 10, I began learning about scientists who study the brain and understanding the educational pathway(s) required to make my dream a reality.

My admirable leadership and scientific abilities have extended throughout my elementary and middle school years. I was nominated and selected to attend the National Junior Leadership Conference - two years in a row from 2021-2022 - in Washington, DC and the beautiful city of Boston, MA. This program strengthened my leadership and scientific abilities and my understanding of how important it is to be in a program like this one to extend my knowledge to the highest level possible. As a current 8th grader at Piedmont IB Magnet, I was inducted into The National Junior Honors Society, and I am elated to be a part of the IB Ambassadors, Honors Orchestra, and volleyball team. My participation in these extra-curricular activities has enhanced my leadership skills and cultivated my open mindedness and pursuit of excellence. These endeavors have also allowed me to reflect upon all my accomplishments and reach even further out of the box to accomplish more beyond mine and my family's expectations.

My pursuit of excellence extends far beyond school. I am involved in programs such as the wonderful program I was selected into - Delta Academy - that is sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, as well as a community program that I was also selected to be in called The Gem In Me. These powerful and enlightening programs have both shown me just how far my leadership and knowledge could go.

Being a part of the Duke enrichment program, along with my other educational endeavors, will add not only a lasting memory to my life, but also a shining moment in my life where I can explore further into my career goal and show what I am truly capable of and what impact I will make on this world. I truly thank you for this opportunity to engulf in the possibilities of an outstanding program like this one. I sincerely hope that you consider me to carry on this amazing legacy of exceptional students and allow me to show just how amazing I can truly be.
