Support Serenity's Recovery

Intro:
Jordynn's daughter Serenity has been admitted to a residential inpatient facility to help her heal from difficult mental health challenges. Jordynn is a hardworking, dedicated, loving single mother who has done and continues to do all she can to support her daughter through some of the most difficult circumstances. The medical system we currently have is not cheap, especially for specialized care. I'm asking for friends, family, and others who may have means to help me in supporting someone who has not often had the same support systems many of us can rely on. Anything helps and it would mean the world to this small family.

Story:
Serenity is a beautiful, bright, strong and loving 16 year old girl. She is my daughter and my world. On July 27th her life almost came to an end. She was rushed to the ER by ambulance where we waited nearly 24 hours for her to be medically cleared to transfer to an inpatient mental health hospital. Serenity will be moving to a residential treatment program after two weeks stabilizing in the hospital and waiting for insurance to clear and a bed to open up for her next level of care. This has been the most difficult experience I have gone through as a parent and I have done my best to make sure she is getting the treatment that she needs right now and will be in the care of a team that sees her for the young girl that she is and provides the healing, love, support and encouragement that she needs through what I can only imagine is the hardest thing she has gone through in her life as well.

I have a hard time asking for help but I am very grateful that I have good friends that look out for both Serenity and I when we are in need of support. If you want to help, donations towards her medical expenses will alleviate some of the stress we are facing right now but prayers and messages from people that care about us would mean so much right now too. It's easy to get lost in our loneliness but I hold on to the greatest miracle that I know in this life, the gift of human kindness. Something that I want to show my daughter is how much she is loved, that she belongs to a community, and that she is already enough just as she is, she has always been enough.

Serenity is a big music lover. I want to give her a playlist that she can use to help keep her motivated during her treatment. If you would like to contribute, please leave a song in the comments that got you through one of the hardest times and you are welcome to share a bit of your story too.

I really struggled through my teen years, I came from a broken family and often felt unwanted, alone, and unhappy. As I get older, I realize that we were never meant to face the world on our own but for much of my childhood I felt deeply lost in a world full of people that looked through me.

I had a baby when I was 15 and that changed my whole life. There were times that I didn't know where we were going to live but I knew that I would do everything in my power to make sure that my daughter could grow up in a home where we both were safe and she wouldnt feel as afraid of the future as I did, I promised her from the day she was born that I would always put her first. It hasn't been easy and there are still days that I feel overwhelmed with the stress and woes of life but when I look back I see how far we have come together I am so grateful that I had someone worth fighting for, my daughter who has taught me so much about the truly important things in life and how to hold on when you feel like giving up.

I'm not a perfect mother, but I will never stop working to be the mother that you need me to be. A mother that looks right at you and sees the pain that you carry and is capable of listening, supporting, and leaning on the wisdom of people that choose to step into our lives when the going gets tough.
