On the night of July 18, 2025, my stepson Jordan Schnell and my husband Will Schnell were riding their motorcycles home from visiting Will's mom on I-91 South in Connecticut when a car with its lights off hit Jordan from behind, threw him from his bike onto the highway, ran him over, and then fled the scene, dragging Jordan’s bike under the car’s front end for nearly a mile. As of July 22, the driver still has not been apprehended. It is a miracle that Jordan survived. But he was severely injured, suffering shattered and fractured vertebrae, a fractured pelvis, broken ribs, a broken clavicle, a broken arm, a fractured wrist, internal bleeding, and other injuries. He will be in the hospital for a month undergoing multiple surgeries, and then will likely face months in a rehabilitation facility to heal. His surgeons estimate his total recovery and healing time to be at least 2 years. Our family would deeply appreciate donations of any amount to help Jordan with his significant medical and physical rehabilitation expenses. We are profoundly grateful that Jordan is alive, and profoundly grateful for any help you might be able to provide. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. -Gretchen Sullivan & family
