Support Jordan's Recovery: Help Bridge the Gap

Hi Loves,

Thanks for everything you've all done to help me through my vaginoplasty surgery and recovery over the past few months. I wanted to write sooner, but I've been exhausted. Thankfully, I'm healing well, and I return to work Wednesday, when I'll be cleared to sit upright for long periods of time. All in all, my progress has been amazing, and I'm feeling hopeful for the long haul.

Unfortunately, I'm dealing with a hiccup in my financial plans: My short-term disability payments have been held for the last four weeks while I await a decision from the insurance company as to whether they believe I need 12 weeks of recovery. (Spoiler: I do, but even with my surgeon's approval, their internal team could deny me. It's looking likely that I'll never see the money or, if I do, it could be in weeks or months.) Also, my weekly payments have been reduced by almost $200 due to some weird private insurance/state insurance responsibility-shifting that I'm currently trying to settle. I'm tired!

Aaaanyway, this means I'm in money limbo. I'm looking for a little more financial help than I anticipated, which feels really crummy, but I'm hoping folks will come to my aid so I can bridge this surprise gap in my income. I'm hoping to raise $1,000 to cover the cost of August rent and utilities while I transition back to full-time work.

I love you all, and I really appreciate any extra support you can send my way. I'm excited to get back to my life, and I also have some writing projects in the works that I've had the gracious time to attend to and feel excited to share soon. Thanks for being part of this metamorphosis.
