As many of you have heard by now, Jordan was involved in a very serious accident. While putting Sadie into her car seat, Jordan was struck by a GMC truck. In an act that undoubtedly saved his daughter's life, he was able to move Sadie out of harm's way before the impact. Although he reacted quickly, he was unable to avoid being hit himself. Jordan is currently receiving exceptional care at UCLA Medical Center. His injuries are severe. The most significant trauma was to his left foot, which doctors were unfortunately unable to fully save. His right foot was also injured, though less extensively. While he sustained injuries to other parts of his body, the damage to his left foot has been the most devastating.
Jordan and Julie are now facing the very real possibility of a below-the-knee amputation. He will require a prosthetic limb and will have a long road of recovery and rehabilitation ahead of him. This news is heartbreaking. We know Jordan's strength and determination will carry him through, but the challenges facing him and his family are immense. Jordan and Julie, along with Sadie and six-week-old Shae, will need to relocate temporarily to a single-story home during his recovery. Their current three-story condominium is simply not suitable for his medical needs. We are actively searching for housing options and narrowing down several possibilities, but this is a daunting process during an already overwhelming time.
Even with health insurance, the financial burden ahead will be significant. Medical expenses, rehabilitation, adaptive equipment, housing needs, and time away from work will create substantial challenges for the family. We are asking friends, family, and anyone who feels moved to help to please keep Jordan, Julie, Sadie, and Shae in your thoughts and prayers. Any support, whether through prayers, encouragement, or financial assistance, would mean the world to them during this difficult season.
