Support Jordan's Journey to Overcome Cancer

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I’m reaching out to you on behalf of my grandson Jordan Daniel Hernandez, he is 11 years old and was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma on his cheek area. About 3 weeks ago, Jordan felt a bump on this cheek the size of pea and told his mommy and daddy. Fast forward to last week, it is now the size of ½ a golf ball. This type of cancer is very aggressive. Here is what we do know: The doctors cannot remove it with surgery because it will disfigure ½ his face. He will need chemo and radiation. The length of his treatment will be 10 to 12 months. My daughter and her family have been through so much already. Jordan’s mom was diagnosed in June 2023 with an autoimmune disease known as Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis and it took 30% of her kidneys and she was on dialysis for 6 months. Jordan’s mother just started recovering and started a part-time job about 3 weeks ago, but she had to resign as she will be Jordan’s primary care giver during this time. My family is very giving and always willing to give a helping hand whenever someone needed it, especially my daughter Carmen. She was constantly giving to those around her without ever asking for anything in return. But now, she and her family need your help.
My grandson is a little boy and has no idea what he is heading towards. He has been aware of the cancer, and he is Facetiming all his friends that he is going to go bald like the cleaning product, Mr. Clean. He tells me not to worry about it, he will be fine and be back in a year. He also has been telling his friends that his daddy, Demetrio (Dimi) Hernandez, is going to shave his head too because he wants to be like Jordan and support him.
Since Jordan was 3, he has wanted to be an Astronaut when he grew up. He loves science and reading. Jordan is full of life and loves telling jokes. He is incredibly smart. He was in his school’s gifted and talented program. His IQ is in the top 8% for his age. He just started middle school and chose to play trombone because of the FART sounds he could make. He is such a fun-loving kid.
In Jordan’s short life, he has been through so much. You see, he and his sisters (Ariana Marie and Allie Rayne) are foster adopted. He was removed from his family when he was 8 months old. He was in the foster care system until he was 3 when my daughter and son-in-law took them into their home and loved and supported them. My daughter and her husband adopted all 3 of them so they would not be separated.
On top of the emotional toll of Jordan’s diagnosis, there is going to be a financial burden they will be facing because no family plans for a medical crisis like this. We are asking for your support to help ease this burden. Your donation will go directly towards helping Jordan and his family with focus on what matters most fighting this disease and spending precious time together.
No donation is too small. Whether you can give or simply share this campaign, every act of kindness will make a difference. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and support during this challenging time. Let's all gather and pray for this beautiful family, as they have done so many times for others, during this extremely difficult time.
