Support Jordan's Journey to Full Recovery
Donation protected
We’ve put this off as long as we could, but now we need to ask for help.
On March 22, Jordan was admitted to Norman Regional after a fainting episode at home. He was severely malnourished, had significant muscle loss, and was completely disoriented—hallucinating, confused, and unaware of where he was. We thought it might be alcohol withdrawal, but it was much worse.
A very short few days later, still in this critical state, he was discharged. He entered Rob’s Ranch for treatment, but had to be picked up the next morning because he was too sick to stay. Baptist Hospital saw him briefly, then sent him home again.
Finally, at St. Anthony’s, someone listened. A family friend recognized the signs of Wernicke Encephalopathy—a brain disorder caused by a severe thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency, often related to alcohol use and liver damage. This diagnosis explained the mental decline and physical deterioration.
After thiamine treatments for several days, he began to show signs of mental clarity. It felt like a miracle—days earlier we had begun preparing ourselves for permanent brain damage.
On April 8, he was transferred to Mercy Rehab to begin rebuilding his strength and mobility. One week later, on April 15, he was served divorce papers.
On April 19, he was discharged to continue recovery at home with his family. He applied to several inpatient programs, but insurance denied them—because he had been sober for over a month. (That month, of course, was spent in hospitals.)
We’re still evaluating the extent of his cognitive recovery, and we continue to hope and pray for full healing.
Our family has done everything we can to support him, but we now need help to ease the financial burden so Jordan can focus completely on recovery.
Your donation will help cover:
-Medical, sober living, and rehab expenses not covered by insurance
-Transportation, basic supplies, and living costs during recovery
-Medical equipment, physical, occupational, or speech therapy
-Legal and financial advocacy as he navigates this new chapter
If you’re able to donate or share, we are deeply grateful. Every bit helps.
Thank you for standing with Jordan on his road to healing.
