Hi, my name is Jessie and I am fundraising for my son Jordan. Just two weeks ago he was diagnosed with an eye condition called Keratoconus.
Keratoconus is an eye disease that causes the cornea to thin and become irregular, leading to vision loss. The cornea is the clear, dome-shaped front of the eye, and keratoconus causes it to bulge outward into a cone shape. This cone shape can cause blurred vision, glare, halos around lights, and sensitivity to light. Keratoconus usually affects both eyes, and symptoms rapidly progress over a few months. Left untreated it can lead to blindness.
He is going to need surgery on both eyes, and our insurance won’t cover it. His surgery has been scheduled for the middle of June just to give him time to finish school and time to recover during the summer months. I am desperate at this point. For the last 2 years I have had to take on so much since my mother’s stroke. Physically, mentally, and financially. I am working 3 jobs just to keep us afloat. I don’t know what else I can do. I would more than appreciate any help… even a dollar with be more than appreciated, anything will do. Thank you all in advance.
