Being told someone has cancer always brings unexpected questions, feelings, and emotions. No one should be left to navigate this diagnosis on their own! Our family is starting this page to help contribute to some of the financial burdens that come along with a diagnosis of cancer. Many of you know Jordan as a 10-year-old, silly and joyful little boy. He’s a son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend to many. His presence lights up any room. This unfortunate story starts with a fall from him innocently playing on a trampoline. Never did I as a parent think that a trip to the ER would result in a diagnosis of osteosarcoma (bone cancer) on Halloween of 2021. It has been a whirlwind ever since, including trips to the ER, multiple doctor appointments, brain scans, body scans, brain surgery, knee replacement, strokes, seizures, body changes, decreased weight, and so much more that no child should ever have to experience. Jordan is just finishing up his 4th round of chemo and has more rounds to complete.
As for Jordan’s current status (8/16/24), he is in the icu, his cancer has spread to his lungs making it difficult for him to breathe on his own which has resulted in him relying on the ventilator to assist with breathing as he is sedated.
During this time, I ask that we continue to keep Jordan & the family in our prayers. Our hope is to get Jordan the best care possible as he continues to fight this disease.
