My name is Shelli & am the proud mom of Hannah Castaneda, mom-in-love to Jordan Castaneda.
Last year(2025) Jordan was diagnosed with Accute Myloid Luekemia-AML, he underwent chemo, blood transfusions and white blood cell injections. Followed by fevers, blood infections, kidney pain, trouble eating and keeping food down. CT scans, MRI's and too many transfusions to count(both red blood cells and platelets), what was expected to be a 30 day hospital stay ended up being 52.
So, through some hard times, illness beyond 'chemo' Jordan seemed to have made a 'full recovery'...
It was during this time Hannah met Jordan at her best friends wedding and well, imagine that, they fell in love and didn't waste time with a long engagement, they got married.
Jordan recently found out that his leukemia has in fact returned.
17 out of 24 cells have mutated into a new Leukemia.
Treatment will be through Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle.
He will first be hospitalized to aggressively kick those cancer cell's into oblivion with chemo and radiation. That's only part of his uphill climb...once chemo and radiation are finished he has to receive a stem cell/bone marrow transplant, he will have to go into Fred Hutch housing where he will have 24/7 live-in care-giving.
The Oncology team is suggesting this will be a 4-6 month stay.
Hannah & Jordan are ready to get on with their beautiful life together...but, they could use some help.
They have out of work costs, housing costs, ferry/transportaion costs, living expenses outside of the hospital, costs associated with his time in Seattle living at Fred Hutch.
Hannah will be taking a week off alternating with Jordan's mom Karrie spending a week there then a week home(to allow both of these beautiful women to keep their jobs) The hardships they face would seem insurmountable yet through their faith, the many prayer chains and loving families on both sides...
Phillipians 4:13 I can do ALL THINGS through Christ, who strengthens me.
Any and all donations will help them get through this challenging time.
