Please help us support one of our own!
The Cafe Acadiana family is embracing our amazing, beautiful, and kindhearted coworker Jordan Mazor with all of our love and support as she faces the unimaginable challenge of standing up to breast cancer for a SECOND time in her short 35 years. Jordan has become such an important part of our work family as well as touching the hearts of so many of our customers. For all of those that know Jordan, you can't help but feel the light that constantly shines from within her. Her smile and kindness are always present. Currently, Jordan faces an unknown future as she is confronted with the emotional turmoil and the financial hardship that accompanies the recurrence of her breast cancer.
Your generosity, no matter the amount, will help give Jordan hope and support as she bravely navigates this tremendously difficult and frightening time as she travels this painful treatment journey.
Jordan began living with cancer in 2017. A newlywed of less than 6 months and just 28 years old, she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. A double mastectomy immediately followed. The following years were filled with chemotherapy, radiation treatments, and more surgeries. Three years after the initial diagnosis of breast cancer, she was finally able to focus on living her life without having cancer as her constant companion.
For a fresh start to this new life, Jordan relocated to Alabama to be near family and she soon settled in Loxley. It was here where she found a new sense of purpose. Jordan was able to direct her attention to establishing a simple, modest life and living every day to its fullest. This gave her a newfound appreciation of the life she was blessed with.
Jordan soon joined our Cafe Acadiana family where she firmly established herself in our hearts and we in hers. She always loved coming to work. She enjoyed being able to spend time with her colleagues, who by now were close friends, as well as meeting so many of the wonderful people in our beautiful community. She felt a sense of belonging. After such a long journey, she felt she was finally home. Her future was bright. Tragically, this happiness did not last long. The devastating news came in February. Her breast cancer had returned and metastasized to multiple areas including her bones, lungs, and liver. After working so hard to achieve a sense of security, she is now faced with cancer for a second time, and this time the diagnosis is so much worse. Again, her future dreams have been shattered. Her total focus is now praying that this cancer will respond to the multiple treatments she is now undergoing. Working is no longer an option and we miss her. This cancer is aggressive and is moving quickly. The bone involvement in her leg and spine has resulted in difficult and painful walking. It is also very dangerous. The tumors have made her bones extremely weak and there is a constant fear of fractures.
Jordan has put her heart and soul into our Cafe. If you know her, you have experienced firsthand her true love of others, kind heart, and unwavering positivity. She has an amazing light in her heart that shines on everyone she meets.
Please join us in supporting her as she continues standing up to this overwhelming challenge.
