Hello everyone!
My name is Jordan Huling and I was recently diagnosed with Stage 4B Classic Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Last year before going on a trip to Mexico, I noticed a couple painless lumps in the side of my neck. I decided to get them checked out for peace of mind, but the doctor didn’t seem too concerned. He was almost positive that I was just getting sick and sent me on my way with antibiotics and steroids. Although the lumps didn’t go down or go away, she continued to live her best life.
Once the new year rolled in, I became very concerned over these lumps. I took my medications, tried doing lymphatic massages, and even tried using ice and heat to get the swelling down. Nothing worked. You could begin to see how full one side of my face was compared to the either bc the lumps were getting bigger and harder.
I got a new primary care physician and went to him for a second opinion. His reaction to my lumps were a complete 180 from the first doctor I went to. He said, “We don’t like lumps, especially in women’s necks.” Dr. Guzman got the ball rolling. After getting CT and ultrasound scans, rotating specialists, and seeing new doctors, I am very blessed to have ended up at one of the best cancer hospitals in the nation—City of Hope.
If you know me, then you know I am not the type to ask for help. I wanted to make this fund to help alleviate some of the financial stress this diagnosis and journey has put on my family and I. I haven’t been able to work with my diagnosis and will not be able to work until after I finish treatment. Anything helps and I am super grateful that you even clicked on this page! It means a lot to me even if you’re just here for the story. Thank you thank you thank you everyone!! The amount of support I have is so crazy yet, so beautiful and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Again, thank you for your support and let’s go kick cancer’s ass!
