Support Jordan Britton's Cremation Costs

My name is Madison Britton (28). Yesterday, my sister, Jordan Britton (25), was found passed away by her boyfriend, who wishes to remain unnamed at this time.

I am doing everything I can to raise the funds needed to lay my sister to rest, but I cannot do it on my own. This loss was completely unexpected, and with only one income in our household, we simply do not have the means to cover these costs.

This is all the information I have right now, but I am reaching out for help so we can give Jordan the farewell she deserves. Any support is deeply appreciated.

For anyone wondering what happened, here is what I know so far.

I received a call from my mom asking if I could check on Jordan because she had heard that something had happened and that Jordan might be dead. I immediately rushed over to Jordan’s trailer. When I arrived, her boyfriend came outside and told me Jordan wasn’t there. I yelled, “Then where is she?” and he told me, “At the morgue.”

I asked if the officers had left him a card, but he said they didn’t. I asked where they had taken her, and he said he didn’t know. He told me he had reported to police that Jordan had been very sick the night before, throwing up, and that he had helped her walk to the bathroom. He said he left for work around 6 a.m., and that she was breathing and snoring when he left. He said he tried calling her twice when he got to work but got no answer, then tried calling again around 2 p.m. six more times, still with no response. Around 5 p.m., he called once more and got no answer.

Her boyfriend also told me there had been blood coming from her nose, but when I asked the officer, the officer said there was no blood.

According to the officer, two officers arrived on scene between 5:30 and 5:38 p.m., took a statement, and checked on Jordan. At 5:45 p.m., she was pronounced deceased on arrival. The officer shared with me what he witnessed: Jordan had foam at the mouth and signs consistent with a seizure. He said rigor mortis had already set in, meaning she had been gone for several hours. Based on their estimate, she likely passed sometime between 6 a.m. and 11:59 a.m., either before or after her boyfriend left for work.

The officer said he cleaned Jordan, placed her in the hearse, and transported her to Roosevelt Funeral Home.

I called Roosevelt Funeral Home, and they confirmed she had been brought to them last night. This morning, she was taken to Salt Lake to the Utah State Medical Examiner.

They will run tests, a toxicology report, and perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Jordan will be returned to Roosevelt either Monday or Tuesday of this week or next week, depending on how long the process takes.

I’ve spoken with the funeral home, and they said I can call back for more information or to begin making arrangements. I told them I will call back tomorrow or Monday to discuss services or the possibility of having her transferred to Taylorsville. Jordan wanted to be cremated, and we will honor that.

The funeral home explained that medical examiner results may take 4–6 months, especially because her death is being investigated as an unsupervised / unexplained medical death until more information is known. There is no confirmed cause at this time. We won’t have answers until their investigation is complete.

I will keep everyone updated as me and my mom, Norma, learn more and make arrangements. For now, this is everything we know.

Please help us lay Jordan to rest. Your support means more than we can express.
