Jon, a retired school teacher and active pickleball player at our local club, has always been a positive presence in our community. He and his wife share a passion for pottery, often creating beautiful pieces together. Recently, Jon was struck by a car while walking his two beloved dogs, resulting in serious injuries including broken ribs, a brain injury, and loss of hearing in one ear. He spent 15 days in the hospital and is now working hard on his rehabilitation, seeing a PT, OT and Speech therapist weekly. He is currently relying on a walker to move around his home, but getting more stable and stronger every day.

The accident also had a devastating impact on Jon’s dogs. One of them was severely injured and required a 20-day stay in the pet hospital, with ongoing daily visits for continued care. Tragically, the other dog did not survive. Jon and his wife are heartbroken by this loss and the challenges they now face. Their immediate need is help with the overwhelming veterinary bills for their surviving dog, as well as support for Jon’s ongoing recovery.

Support from friends, family, and the community would mean the world to Jon and his wife during this difficult time. Every contribution will help ease the financial burden of vet care and allow them to focus on healing, both physically and emotionally, after such a traumatic event.
