Dear friends, family, and community,

Jon is a very dear friend of mine and of many people in this community. I am reaching out to you today with a humble request, with the Koenigsberg's blessing, for support as Jon and his wife Eileen have been navigating through a challenging time in their lives. Our beloved Jon has been battling tonsil cancer, and his journey has been filled with numerous medical appointments, surgeries, and ongoing treatments. They have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and kind offers of assistance they have already received, and are now humbly asking for your financial support as well, to help ease the burden on their family during this difficult period.

 

Jon's health struggles began last fall when he noticed a lump growing on his left neck, accompanied by a persistent sore throat. Since then, he has undergone extensive medical procedures, including a lymphadenectomy and a radical tonsillectomy. The recovery from these surgeries was especially challenging for him, as they left him incapacitated and unable to work since February.

 

Throughout this journey, they have encountered substantial financial challenges. Their health insurance carries a high deductible of $9,100 per person and they have found that their supplemental health insurance does not cover any outpatient surgery, treatments, and testing, straining their financial resources. With Jon's inability to work these past number of months and much of Eileen's time dedicated to his care and transportation, their small home-based business has, unfortunately, suffered, and their personal savings depleted.

 

Furthermore, Jon's art business, which brings him great joy and fulfillment, has also taken a hit. Due to his inability to paint or create art in his studio, his artistic pursuits have been put on hold, also impacting his livelihood.

 

With the help of this GoFundMe campaign, we aim to raise funds to alleviate the financial strain on their family. The donations received will be utilized to cover medical expenses, including the high insurance deductible, ongoing treatments, and related costs. Additionally, these funds will provide much-needed relief for everyday expenses, such as mortgage payments and basic living expenses, which have become increasingly difficult to manage.

 

We understand that not everyone may be able to contribute financially, and that is absolutely okay. The Koenigsbergs genuinely appreciate all the prayers, thoughts, love, and healing energy that have been sent their way.
